Celebrating Chicago’s centennial, the World’s Fair of 1933-34 was called A Century of Progress International Exposition. Held in Burnham Park, the exposition focused on modernity, with forward-looking displays of automobiles, trains and aircraft, as well as a spectacular “1933 Homes of Tomorrow Exhibition.” The popularity of the fair resulted in its being extended from one year to two, and many postcards illustrated the grand event.
